USEFUL INFORMATION:

 

Question 1: we should brush our teeth for 2-3 minutes every day

 

Question 2: we should brush our teeth twice a day, once in the morning and once before going to bed at night.

 

Question 3 & 4: spit the toothpaste out into the sink and DONŐT rinse your mouth with water or mouthwash straight away. The toothpaste contains fluoride which is a special ingredient keeping our teeth healthy and protecting them from the food and drink we consume. We should not eat or drink if possible for at least 30 minutes after brushing.

 

Question 5: our toothbrush only cleans around 70% of the tooth surface. If the teeth are very close together we should use dental floss to clean in between. If there are little or big gaps between the teeth we should use an interdental brush to clean the plaque away. There are different sizes of brushes to clean all sizes of gaps. Water or air floss can also be used to remove plaque from in between our teeth.

 

Question 6: sugar, a common ingredient in food and drink is harmful to our teeth. Always check the ingredients of food and drink as hidden sugars or low sugar options can still cause decay. We should not consume sugar more than 3-4 times per day.

 

Question 7: plain milk and still plain water are the only safe drinks for our teeth.

 

Question 8: we should attend the dentist for our routine examination every 6 months. Sometimes the dentist will advise to come in every 3 or 4 months if you show signs of dental diseases.
